Salam! What books would you recommend for me, to learn about the stories of the beloved prophets?

Wa Alaikumussalam, 

Literally the most epic book, Ibn Kathir’s stories of the Prophet’s compiled from ‘Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah’ (The Beginning of the End). It can be found free online, or at any islamic bookshop - and it’s such an amazing read, plus you can read it over and over. It’s also great for children and their bed time stories :)
